A Local’s Guide To Belgravia Eating

Elizabeth Street is the favourite London spot of my friend [Elizabeth] and I. There’s something so relaxing and yet wonderful about being here- you don’t actually need to go everywhere else, because you already have everything you could want beside you. I think if I had to put it into one word, I would say that Belgravia is home.

We’d planned to go for some makeup shopping at Harrods but needed food before (typical life of foodies!). From experience I know that Elizabeth chooses the best places to eat and go, especially in Belgravia which she knows better than anyone I have ever met, so when she told me she knew the perfect spot for us to dine at, I was sure it would be amazing.

I couldn’t have been more right.

A short walk from the end of Belgravia took us to an absolutely charming Gastro Pub which I had actually never noticed despite walking past it countless times! The Thomas Cubitt, with its pretty outdoor seating and varied menu, seemed just the place we needed for that warm evening.

Elizabeth went with the fish and chips, while I chose the steak. The chips came dusted with truffles, and everything about the dish was fantastic. The steak was great too, made just the way it should be.

But what was so special about this place was the atmosphere. It was so chilled out and relaxed, and the natural light afforded to us by our outside table was lovely. I really like the vibe here. There is just enough life to make you feel like you’re eating out, yet it’s not touristy at all. All in all an awesome place to enjoy a meal on any day of the week (but especially Sundays when they do the roast!).
