For months, I’d wanted to go for brunch in Chiswick, but, the hopelessly lazy person I am, had kept putting it off. The area’s at quite a distance from the rest of Central London, meaning a little effort is required to go there!
Luckily, I had Instagram to give me a shove hihi. I kept seeing posts tagged with ‘brunch in Chiswick’ online. The one that kept popping up was an all-white restaurant spot with cacti and eye-catching pink chairs. After a while of repeatedly seeing it on fellow Londoners’ Instagram accounts, I was dying to find out where that ‘brunch in Chiswick’ spot was’! It’s so frustrating when you see something tagged simply ‘Chiswick’! Tell me more!
After much searching, I eventually found out the location: No197 Chiswick Fire Station. A week later, and my friend Elisa and I could finally write ‘Brunch in Chiswick’ on our calendars: the first step was done!
The second step to successfully getting myself off my bed and into Chiswick, was to make a reservation. I recommend this completely not only because it makes you more likely to commit to your plans, but because getting a table for brunch in Chiswick on a Saturday is actually super difficult! This goes for so many of the restaurants and cafes we encountered there, but especially for No 197, which is really popular on weekends!
The day finally came, and it was unusually sunny for London.
Making for a really gorgeous walk
After a little stroll around, Elisa and I arrived at No197, and it was as pretty as we had dreamed!
We chose to sit outside in the garden, where the sun rays dripped down from the woven ceiling. I totally recommend it to you guys because it’s so nice to dine al fresco especially on a warm day! There’s something about eating in natural light that I don’t think dining indoors ever comes close to. I’m a sucker for outdoor dining (which is partly why I love Chiltern Firehouse so much) and No197’s garden did not disappoint!

Mine is Van Cleef (available at boutiques) but you can get similar ones above!
It didn’t take long for our food to arrive, which was perfect as we were both really hungry hihi. Elisa had gone with the mussels while I chose the steak (it was amazing but I later regretted it when I saw how good their burgers looked!)
I think it’s safe to say ‘Brunch in Chiswick’ is likely going to show up again on my calendar 😉
